The 47-year-old actress publicized the secret of her astonishing weight loss in the trailer for the film, which showed Melissa’s geeky character as Deanna who received a glamorous makeover as the comedian.

The American actress flaunts her massive 75 pounds weight loss and she looks incredible.

In her new movie “Life of the Party”, the actress showed off a very impressive transformation.

But how did she do that?

According to the dailymail, before filming, the actress reportedly went on a ketogenic diet, or the “keto diet”.

The keto diet is being originated from the metabolic state of ketosis, and it implicates avoiding carbohydrates and eating healthy fats.

The mom of the two explained Life & Style magazine, “I truly stopped worrying about it.”

“I think there’s something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked. It may be the best thing I’ve ever done. I feel amazing”.

The Bridesmaids actress humorously said that she slimmed down her figure due to living “a super-boring life. You go to bed at 7:30 [p.m.] — that’s the trick.”

But in reality, Melissa streamlined her portions, stick with a low-crab diet plan, high-protein and maintained a consistent exercise regime.

Furthermore, registered dietitian and author of the Active Calorie Diet, Leslie Bonci – who hasn’t worked with Melissa but mesmerized with her weight loss and says –

“What she did was prioritize her efforts in terms of thinking about what to eat and making time to prepare it. Protein and produce became the mainstays of her meals, and she was strategic about including smaller portions of carbs such as quinoa and fruit.”

Melissa McCarthy’s weight loss has only braced her already healthy body image.

The mother of two flaunted her slimmer figure last month at the Hollywood Film Awards, where she showed off her slim figure in a black plaid top and leather belt that cinched her tiny waist.

Previously, in an interview she told People magazine,

“I feel sexiest when I feel comfortable, when I feel most myself, when I’m not trying to be anything other than who I am,”.

“[I love] all of it: my flaws, my shortcomings, my body parts that you’re like, ‘Well, couldn’t that be better?’ I think, especially after having kids, I go, ‘Well, the alternative is pretty bad. I’ll take me as I am.’”
